I was in North Admiral and craving sushi for dinner, so I decided to swing by Irashai Sushi. I went in not long after they opened, so the restaurant was fairly empty, and my server was quick to greet me and seat me right away. The inside is small, but gives an intimate and cozy feel. From the lanterns hanging to the sakuras to the open kitchen view, I loved how tradition and unique charm was very present and pronounced. While looking through the menu, I noticed there was quite a steady stream of delivery orders, which was a great sign. I decided to order the Sushi Omakase (8 pieces of chef's selection nigiri) and the Irashai Roll. The Sushi Omakase came with a small bowl of miso soup, which came out hot, not overly salty, very flavorful, and a great way to start off my meal. If I was being nit-picky, I would prefer they used soft, silken tofu over firm tofu, but more of my personal preference. The Sushi Omakase was first up, and my goodness, they really stepped up their game with the presentation and "wow" factor! Each piece of nigiri was formed very well and held together nicely when picked up with my chopsticks. The fish and shellfish did not smell fishy and had a nice texture, all signs of fresh ingredients. My favorite was the salmon nigiri, since I love a fatty piece of fish, and I believe the fried onion was a lovely garnish. The Irashai Roll came shortly after and looked very nice, too, with the contrast from the golden and black tobiko. Once again, the sushi was well formed and stayed intact when picked up. Overall, I had a wonderful meal at Irashai Sushi. There are not many sushi options in West Seattle, but, the quality, value, and price point, at Irashai Sushi will definitely draw me in the next time I am craving sushi. An underrated West Seattle gem in my mind.

Favorite place for sushi in Seattle! Brought my picky mom here and let's just say she now recommends it to others as well ;) limited seating and limited parking but I always do takeout so not much of a worry for me.

This sushi spot has been my husband and I's favorite sushi spot for years, and everyone we have taken has LOVED it as well! We always receive great customer service from the hosts and servers, and the sushi is consistently amazing. I love the intimate setting and ambiance of this restaurant. It has beautiful Japanese art and a gorgeous chandelier! It's THE BEST SUSHI!!! Some of our favorites to order are the baked lobster roll (that's the one on the descending display), kiss of fire (the one with jalapeños), the Tiger roll, the west Seattle, and the Scallop Fantasia. This place will not disappoint you! Just make sure to check their open times and days before you go, because it's not open 7 days a week.

Best sushi in West Seattle. Big portions, nirigi and the rolls were executed well, and all for a very reasonable price. - their Chu toro was excellent. Loved their seared sake. Melts in your mouth and super flavorful. The place is cozy but small- so there is often a line. But it is worth the wait. Favorite: Irashai roll Uni nigiri Sushi omakase.

This is a hole in the wall spot. It is a small restaurant on the strip. There is only street parking available but definitely can find parking on the street or in the neighborhood. Food, it was great. We ordered 3 rolls ans all 3 was amazing!! Will definitely be coming back! The service was pretty good as well.

This is my second visit - it has been fresh and delicious both times. The inside is small and intimate. It is clean and the service is great! Last time the street parking proved to be difficult, this visit I found a spot just a few doors down.

A very delicious sushi shop located in west Seattle on California avenue. They had a variety of classics, sashimi, special rolls and even vegan rolls. We ordered some yellowtail sashimi, spicy tuna roll, vegan red roll and the ultra albacore roll. Everything was fresh and they provided us with lots of ginger and wasabi (which was requested when we ordered). The special rolls and vegan rolls were a bit pricey but worth it! Apparently it is also woman owned!

This small, local sushi restaurant is located in West Seattle (California x Admiral Way). There is a small, shared parking lot in the back of the restaurant. You are also able to enter through the back door from the parking lot to get inside of the restaurant instead of walking around to the front. It was a bit awkward doing that, but it seemed normal to have customers do that. Our group was a group of three and we were seated right away. I ordered the Sushi Omaskase Plate, which is served with a salad and miso soup. This comes with chef's choice of eight pieces of nigiri. Not the traditional way of how omaskase is done, but it was still a good presentation. I also ordered the Seared Salmon roll. I was surprised how full I got off of these two items. We also ordered two appetizers to share between the group, Oyster Tempura and Takoyaki. The Oyster Tempura was okay, not what I expected, but it was good. The Takoyaki was pretty standard. Pretty solid spot with fresh fish in West Seattle, which is convenient if you are in the area and don't want to go to the heart of Seattle!
